Hello

I created a company logo in Corel Paint and saved as a gif. When used in word processors and resized it works fine, but to resize for html its all distorted (www.visionwerx.ca).

How do I fix this? Keep in mind I'm a rookie!

Word isn't HTML (Although it can "generate" HTML files). When it comes to HTML, it squashes the picture, therefore becoming distorted.

The only true way is to resize the image to the correct size using an image tool (Photoshop, Photosuite, etc) before placing into the HTML, thus removing the problem

I forgot to mention. HTML Doesn't render images well (hence the squashing effect) Word however does a half-good job, so that's why it doesn't have problems.

Your mistake is just in the beginning - the CorelPaint work. Don't create logos in any bitmap format. Use vector formats like eps, ai and cdr. These are easy to resize without lost of quality.

Also when you make images for websites or so on have master image that you do all the editing from and then resize it the way you want in you image editing program to the size you need.

This way it also saves loading time becuase the image is the exact size you want on a webpage for example.
