This is a new iPod dock that is coming out. It's not made by apple, my company was chosen to do the packaging; just getting your thoughts....is it "so apple" that it's infringing on copywrite or worse yet unoriginality? Or does emulating apple's style make a lot of sense since this is an item built for thier product?

I think it's not apple-like enough to be infringing on copywrite or to be unoriginal. But it's just apple-like enough to fit with the ipod.

Really like this, points though:

1. The strapline is a bit hard to read when glancing over
2. I think the bevel and emboss on the X looks a tad out of place.

the x will actually be raised, like a 1/32" inch. so the emboss is my attempt to emulate an actual embossing.

i aggree, the tagline should probably be the width of the product.

I prefer the clean, original version.

i do too. the retail stores have suggested to add color in an effort to appeal to a younger more techy crowd.

Definately the first one the color behind is okay but it takes the eye away from the product

thanks. i feel this project was rushed; unfortunatly. the client didn't want to do any real R & D on the box design. so basically we just gave them a gallery to pick from, they said "that one" and rolled it out.

I pick the first one because it's more classy looking.
