A challenge for all you graphics experts!

Would someone please be able to edit the bottom photo to look like the one at the top?

I'm going to use it for a DVD Menu that I'm working on but havent got nearly enough experiance in Photoshop to achieve it.

Heres a little of it, I can't figure out how to get the red in, what I did looked bad. Maybe someone can finish?

I guess the next thig would be to put a slightly transparant layer over but everytime I do the flag it looks realy "drawn on" !!!

put the transparent layer draw the cross or whatever that is put a black outerglow on it and set that layer to multiply you'll have to cut outthe face and group the cross with the cutout face it should look close.
