Hello, I assume I am new to web-developing, but I cant seem to create a good looking text image for my future website.

This is what I created in PaintShop Pro


Here are two good example of what I would like to create.

What is a good way to create a text image? Maybe I just don't know how to use PaintShop?

I think you need to do with Photoshop and Xara3D. Photoshop is integrated many of tools, plug-ins and effects to make it "much nicer" as you want.

I haven't necessarily checked, but I'm not willing to spend that much $$ for Photoshop.

Never heard of Xara3D

Xara3D is a web design software. It can embed many of effects into your text. Try search this software with that name, you will find it?

You can ask for everybody do it for you. In this 4rum, Graphic Design Contests will help you.

You can use PaintShop to create logos so no need to be buying Photoshop.
If you aren't intending to create graphics commercially it would be a waste of money.

Have you looked at GIMP or Inkscape

In fact using PhotoShop to create logos is really using the wrong tool.
Photoshop is an image editor designed for manipulating photographs. The Vector drawing tool for creating images from scratch is Illustrator and Inkscape is equal to Illustrator in most ways

Xara Xtreme is a very good vector drawing program with most of the functionality of Illustrator w/o the hefty price tag. Xara runs around $100, and the new Pro version I think is around $150. It's not difficult to learn and comes loaded with a lot of very good video tutorials.

i prefer photoshop but many say when it comes to creating logo and text designs for logos programs like Imageready and other vector programs are the best.

I use foreworks for logo creation, has lots of fonts and text formatting options
