I am updating my software and so I want to update the logo, or possibly replace it.

The software is SonicMailer Pro - a mailing list manager

The current logo is:

So what do you think of when you think of "SonicMailer Pro" in the context of a mailing list/newsletter system?

Thanks!

personally i think the logo you have there is pretty good...I look at most of the logos of major companies and they are all pretty simple ideas...Kinda like what you have there..Maybe you could possibly work on the flames though.

I agree simple is better. I like your concept, but I do think it could be made a little better.

Yes, simple is better indeed. Take Google for instance...

what you have now looks good, but maybe add a little web 2.0 gloss to it. I.e Gradients, light shadows, bighter colours. Looks at firefox for instance.

At the moment, the envelope and fire trails seem to be too distinct. Whats needed is to integrate/combine these elements somewhat more. That said, this should only be tried if the illustrator can achieve this effect without losing the clarity of the design.
