Hi I need some advice I got a images on a layer, I have added a drop shadow but I want put it on its own layer so I can skew it how do i do that.

- Right-click on the layer that has the dropshadow layer style on it, you'll get a context menu.
- choose CREATE LAYER
You'll get a new layer with JUST your drop shadow on it underneath your image layer.

hmm i usualy do it by lowing the fill opacity, you dont see the real actual images but rather only the layer styles

You can do that, but it wouldn't achieve what the OP wants - which is to be able to transform/distort the shadow itself. You can only do that if the shadow is separated from the layerstyle.
