Recently, i've noticed a decrease in the number of full websites being made with flash.

Although flash elements are still prominate, do you think that full websites being made with flash are a thing of the past?

Yep, and I seriously hope so.
Nothing more irritating than the back button getting you out of the site, when you just want to get back to the previous page....

I hope so too. I'm sure there will still be some new sites made in flash, but I think most people will come to their senses and start using flash for graphics, nof for complete sites.

For a business site flash is practically a death sentence. I have been on flash sites before with the intention of buying something, but when i clicked the "buy this" button nothing happened because i was using an older version of flash that the designers didn't take into account. That was a sale they had lost, And im betting it wasn't the only sale they had lost because of it.

Creating sites fully in flash can also kill you in the search engines as they can index only text/html pages at the moment.

Yea – I’m not a fan, I think flash sites are nice to people who have never seen them, but not ones who actually need to go to a site to get information. – I do wonder – what will be used for most sites in the future? As I am new to web design and other that html all I have really fooled around with is css.

As much as I hate to say it, no. All-Flash sites will never die.

The reason is that the legion of Macrowhores who believe that Macromediadobe products are the greatest thing since Star Wars from a futuristic point of view firmly believe that their "cutting edge" development will translate into millions in sales and legions of fans of their work.

It's a lot like pyramid schemes and bad SEO advice that way: people with a clue know it's wrong, but there will always be that idiot base that believes the hype.
