Hi all,

I am thinking of getting back into graphic design ect and was wondering...

What software should I use?

I have access to all 3 of the programs listed at the top of the page (Photo Shop, Paint Shop and Fireworks) although I have more expierience of using Fireworks.

Which one do you find the best and easiest to use?

Thanks in advance.

P.S Aswell as voting in the poll, your reasons would also be appreciated.

Paint shop is the best in my opinion. I advise you to get free trials for all of them aand then see which one you like the best. Otherwise you might waste your money.

If you mean in the sense of this is how you're going to pay your rent, you need Photoshop. Not it's the best option, not you might like it, not it's easier, but half your potential clients won't take you seriously because if you don't use Photoshop. I'm sure the other software can open and save PSDs, so you could keep quiet about it. If you mean getting a job in a marketing department, though, knowing Photoshop will be far more valuable than Paint Shop Pro.

I find Fireworks suits my needs but then I just do general run of the mill web stuff. The learning curve is quite shallow compared to PS, and it's quick and easy to use.

I think your choice would depend on what your goals are, though.

for quick web graphics, fireworks offers the most productivity however photoshop offers the widest range of tools and options.

I second that. If you want to do vector graphics (ie. logos), Illustrator is best.

I have tried all of those programs. My favorite is Fireworks.
