snk123: Most logos do not cost anywhere near this amount of money to design but specialist logos used for very high profile things usually have much more time spent designing than something like a local small business. Basically the more you spend, theoretically, the more research and time goes into your logo.
As for the London 2012 logo; I personally think i was a complete waste of time and effort on the part of the designers. Edgy, cool and appealing to youngsters is not what comes to mind when i think of the Olympics; everyone is involved in the Olympic Games, not just youngsters and The Games themselves are much older than todays youth. £400,000 for this is a complete joke and as other people have already said they could have done a better job if they came to this forum.
