What do you think of the london 2012 logo? I don't like it think its rubbish.

Well! This logo supposedly cost taxpayers £400,000! The logo is an embarrassment.

That logo looks like something out of the old “saved by the bell” sitcom.

we should have a contest bragging rights only no monetary gain to see who can make a better one. of course anyone can make a better one than that but you get my drift.

i dont like it...youre right, an old "saved by the bell"...reminds me of the colors that people wore in the 80's when "leg warmers" were a trend. Does anyone remember that? LOL

Yes, it's a REAL logo being used for the Olympics to be held in London in 2012. Had I not known what the logo was for, I'd never have tripped to the awful abstraction of "2012".

That is one hideous logo !

There are two aspects of the logo that are incredible (and not in a good way):

1) The logo can apparently cause seizures.

2) It cost $796,000 USD. There are people on this board that charge $10 a logo that could do a better job. Hell, I could do a better job.

I say we get a group of people together from the board to come up with a logo concept, charge $398,000, and share it around.

I'm "Concept Administrator and CEO". (That means I get the most money with the least amount of effort, because I already came up with the idea.)

Well the organizers wanted to generate public interest in olympics through this logo and i see that it has done exactly that due to its radical departure from the established norms. They also wanted a "simple" and "flexible" logotype which public could use to create their own works of art (much like google and mtv's branding) and they have successfully managed to do that too.

So i guess its a pretty effective logo and the money was well spent.

strange as it may sound, swastika is also a revered symbol in the hindu religion.

Don't the arms of the arrow point counterclockwise with the Hindu version, though?

its also a chinese symbol and it does go the other way I'm not sure exactly what it means but i believe its "moving forward" prosperity sort of. hitler took it and turned it around to symbolize destruction. when the symbol turns clockwise it chews up and destroys everything in it's path.

I think, that's little kid can make London's logo better, then fool designers, who make this terrible logo, really?
