Hi ,
I just purchased the complete program of Corel Draw 8, new in the box. I opened it but didn't register it. It has all the books and disc and is a remarkable program. Just wish I knew how to use it. I may be offering it for sale on ebay but I wanted to know how it rates vs the other software programs out there. I looked it up and it retails for 650USD for this particular package. Any info, greatly appreciated.

Are you joking?
Corel Draw 8 is many years old. They are up to version 13 (called X3) now.

Yeah...you must be joking, SpacyJane. As MrTom pointed out, they're up to Corel X3 and the package sells for about $239.99 CDN (about $225 USD).

Not only that, Corel Draw is a joke of a program, and utterly useless for any kind of serious graphic development. The color palette is off, the program is relatively unstable, and it constantly needs to update itself.

Corel Draw X3 isn't all that bad in my experience. I so loads of work on it and produce a 48 page magazine every 2 months using X3 and it's fine. Output is fine with the printers.

It has some bugs but then so does every piece of software I've ever used. The constant updates are a good thing - makes the bugs go away (well sometimes!!)

I use CorelDraw because I cannot afford the Adobe alternatives!
