I need a really simple tool to make background transparent. Im not looking to remove actually backgrounds just a simple 1 color thing like remove a black background.

I've downloaded over 25 programs and none of them work or some have watermark for free trial.

Does anyone know of a simple tool to remove backgrounds?

If these are existing images (i.e. jpeg) it's tough to remove a background color in an automated way. Programs such as Fireworks can remove background colors by magic wand select, so can Photoshop. There are also some nifty tricks you can do with contrast or masks that will make a cleaner color separation, making it easier to drop out a single color.

I'm not aware of a simple tool to do this.

Your best bet is to have the images done as transparent GIF's right at the outset and save yourself the trouble of having to modify each one.

Do a Google on Paint.NET. That program has a magic wand select, and transparency support. Just make sure that you save the images as GIF or PNG so that they show up as transparent and not white.
