Hey,

i know the target="" has been removed from XHTML STRICT so how can you open a link in a new window and keep it compliant?

I don't really know if that makes sense ... if you're trying to code against xhtml strict, when the code runs, it's going to throw the browser into quirks mode...

Well basically i want it to open a new window but still keep it as valid XHTML 1.1 Strict

the above method by Jamie, does this with javascript which looks quite a good way. its just basically a way so it remains valid and still has the extra feature which is useful i would like to use this on a site im making so i can keep my link in the footer but i dont want users to be directed away from the site
