Hi

I've made a website using dreamweaver and a number of pages have a huge background pattern image sat under another smaller (rollover) image. I used 'position: absolute' for the image and 'align: center' for the background image. I want the background image and the image sat on top (the text and arrows saved as images, also) to shift accordingly when you decrease the size of your browser.

I tried using 'position: relative' instead of absolute but the images weren't sitting on the background, but instead sitting under it. Also tried using layers but probably not properly so nothing worked.

Here's an example of a page:

thanks

That would more be something for Javascript, or I believe that you could do that with HTML DOM.

Try asking in the Javascript forum about that.

I'm not sure it is something for Javascript. (I thought that was used for stuff like user interaction...or is that wrong??)

I'll word it better now: Essentially, all I want is to have a huge image (the pattern background with the green border) and then have a table centered in the middle with an image inside it. They either stack up on top of eachother or I put the pattern background into the table, which then needs to stretch across the page to allow for it's size. Anything I've tried yields either of those two outcomes.

I think that you would need to use Javascript if you wanted the size of the image to change.

And if you wanted to it that way, with the BG changing too, you wouldn't want it to be a background of a div/table, because you can't control the size of those.

What I would do is ask if anyone has a dynamic image size script in the Javascript forum. You could also Google that.

Ohh no, I don't want the image to change size, just be centered in the middle of the browser, whilst on top of a larger image (the background).

No matter, I'm gonna do it another way. I'll just bring the background pattern image in as a background but include the black space as part of the image before doing so, which is simple enough. Don't know why I didn't just do it that way before. Think I'd only want to have the background as a dynamic image (like you say), so that they'd always be a green border showing at the far right and bottom of your browser. That's probably not worth the effort though.

thanks anyway
