Your source code is huge. You have "spreader" div's, "extra" div's, and <div><div><div><div>. The formatting can be done much simpler with fewer div's, positioning, padding, and margins.
It's definitely a mess in Firefox, and likely in other standards-compliant browsers.
You certainly have a nasty case of div-itis. You also have css links outside of the <head> section, you also have a doctype outside the head - big problem.
"spreader" ?? why ? A proper layout would not need the equivalent of spacer gifs !
