there is a good article on resizable text here

http://www.diamondlime.com/Blog/arch...eb-design/css/

it says that 50% of the top 100 U.S internet sites do not support resizable text...

how would one go about implementing resizable text onto a website?

can this be done simply with css? if so, how?

thanks

I think you need to have separate styles for the different text sizes, and use Javascript to enable users to change them from the site.

Although I don't know Javascript so I couldn't tell you how exactly! I do know how I could do it using PHP, although I don't think this would really be the best solution so Ive never bothered to use it.

It is simple..

You will need to create a couple of stylesheets with the text the different sizes, if it is a case of just making <p> size 12 rather than 10 or somthing simple like that.

Once you have a couple of stylesheets and need to switch them take a look here and you are well away.

I hope this helps

Text is resizeable with CRTL+.

I think its talking about the fact that if your using IE6 and want to increase font size using CTRL+ then fonts sized with px or pts will not enlarge. If the font is sized with % or ems then text will resize with IE6. Its not a major issue that i can see.

Yep, the way to address this is by NOT using font sizes specified with px or pts. IE 6 has minimal resizing with its 'small medium large, very large' under the view options. IE 7 uses Zoom, which isn't great, but it's better than it's predecessor. FF you can resize as Maxxximus said.
