Hi,

I've been a member of this forum for a while, though have mostly lurked. Though today I find myself needing a bit of help understanding something within a recent layout of mine.

Here are the needed files:
http://designnewbie.com/dn/index.html
http://designnewbie.com/dn/layout.css

The problem:
The main navigational menu within the header (one on green background) is designed with plain text. If you place your mouse over the "home" link you get the usual pointing hand, but if you place your mouse over any of the other links within that menu on the green background the mouse pointer does not change to show that the text is a link. The same problem shows up in both IE and Firefox. Also, if you use the keyboard to navigate the page, you will be navigated to those links and if hitting the enter key you will be taken to the corresponding page it should take you to. I had two other people look at this page, and they both are having the same problem in both IE and Firefox. The same problem shows in each of the pages I have created with this template, so it's not just limited to just one page.

All other links on the page work as they should, and I have validated both html and css files and both are compliant.

Now, I have tried to copy and paste the exact same code for the "home" link for the other links, but that didn't work. I have tried retyping each of those links myself, but that didn't work. I have tried opening an entirely new file, and saving the code in it, and saving the file in another location on my hard drive, but that didn't work. I tried removing the h1 title within the "stamp" id, but that didn't make a difference. I have also tried placing text within the title area within the link tags, but that doesn't make a difference either. (the reason why I have omitted the text in the title tag is because I'm not optimizing the site for search engines but for visitors with disabilities) I've also tried every variation I could think of with the links themselves, putting the entire link path in, putting part of it in, etc that didn't make a difference either.

Does anyone have any idea of what this would be happening?

Thanks for everyone's help in advance.

Tina

The problem is that your #stamp h1 is overlapping your #topnav over all but the very left side of the "home" link.

You'll need to either move the nav down, or take the image out of the H1 and float the image to the right separately.

hi,

try this:
#nav a:link, #nav a:visited {background-color:#7dbe27;color:#7BBB26;padding-top:3px;padding-bottom:3px;text-align:left;padding-left:25px;clear:both;font-weight:bold; font-size:13px;}
#nav a:hover {color:#ffffff;text-decoration:none;}

good luck but I have other method that 100% work for the website and seo visit my website www.balinetdesign.com. check the balipropertyconstruction in portfolio and try search in google with the keyword.
