When you have a fixed width header, it is kind of difficult to have a "stretchy" layout (since you can't stretch the header without distorting it). You could declare a background color behind your header image. Then a solid color would display to the sides of the header.

Someone coded the site in a WYSIWYG editor and a bad one at that. It has width's for all the tables and table cells. And like Stephanie said, going to a full-width layout would change your header and IMO, it wouldn't work with the site. It would have to be redone.

All we can see of your site is the html code produced by the php. Hence the comment you have received to date.

I think your site is a modified turnkey php free lancers script. If it is the one I think it is, it is a conglomeration of nested tables weaving from the header to the footer. If you change one you have to change them all or you break something.

It would take a complete rewrite to bring it up to current standards.

I suggest you mught be happier if you leave it alone.

Tell me the list of file names in your main diectorty and I will try to tell you where the menu comes from. Most likely it is pulled from the database and displayed in one of the 100 or so nested tables.
