When you do a Ctl->F5 Refresh in IE6, it sends a
max-age=259200
header (it's 3 days by the way).
Why doesn't it send max-age=0 like Firefox; surely that's the correct behaviour, and I'm curious to know why IE6 wouldn't do that.

IE doesn't do much of anything right, sadly. I wish I could set all web sites up to just play a loud, annoying noise when someone loads them in Internet Explorer. Or redirect them to the Fire Fox download page.

It's somewhat understandable that virtually all web designers and techie types have FireFox.

Nonetheless, I bet there's a reason why it's set to 259200; I was hoping someone might know.

Well, probaly because I.E 6 is very old. 7 years ago, I.E was dominating and Microsoft didn't see why it should up-to-date a software that it is giving for free until Firefox had come. I would say that I.E 6 don't have the last update for the new xhtml coding consortium and this is why it have a lot of bugs and errors.

259200 is 3 days in seconds.

Foundation-flash: "259200 is 3 days in seconds."

I know, I said that in my original post. Are you just trying to get your link in as much as possible?

IE normally has some logic to it however strained, and someone set that request header to be 259200. That's what I'm getting at.

No, I'm sorry. I just didn't read it properly I guess. Oh, blast, you're just going to say I'm just trying to get my link in again; I'm really not. Still it's a lesson for me: always read before you post.
