Whenever I open my website in IE7, I get

Quote:
this page contains errors
message in the bottom left hand corner.

Normally I wouldnt require help with a matter like this, but where it cites the error there is no problem with the code. Dreamweaver passes it off, and wc3 validator only spots errors where I know they exist and are not really errors.

What could cause IE7 to do this, and ive tested. Its not just on my machine.

Thanks.

I just checked the page in IE7 and am not getting this error message. I also checked with W3C's validator, and would suggest that you follow their link with advice with the php markup. And definitely put some alt tags in those two you missed, for accessibility's sake. I would do those things, check it again and see what you find. Oftentimes with IE that's a good first step.

@serandfae It's alt attributes not tags

It's a javascript error

happening because these two scripts are missing and giving a 404 error
Code:
<script src="Scripts/AC_ActiveX.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

<script src="Scripts/AC_RunActiveContent.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

So they are...thanks for pointing that out; sorry, I misspoke. Still, he should attend to that and it should take care of his problem.

Should have taken a closer look at that, I focused on the php and glanced at the alt issue. W3C's validation parser frequently throws errors that look like something else at first glance...

Well, lesson learned, thanks again.

IE7 is choking on Dreamweaver's 'solution' to the active content scripting. I've seen this before. The solution, for me, was to rip out the DW code and replace it with another method of embedding 'active content' (usually a bit of flash) in my page. My preferred method is SWFObject if it's flash.

I recently had a youtube movie on the homepage, but that was a week ago.
I was originally stuck on the video because youtubes code was not valid according to wc3. So I changed it up to make it valid.

But all "active content" is off the homepage, and is now text and pictures. Ill look at the source code to see if its still there in some part.

edit: I removed some old javascript I had on the page, that seemed to get rid of the "errors" in IE7. (sorry chris, didnt see your post until just a second ago)

thanks for the suggestions everyone.
