Hey... I am in a slight bit of a sticky situation. I have designed my highschool a website, with teacher and Learning Center club profiles. The teachers and the clubs want to be able to update these profile pages from their own computers in their rooms or at home. Some sort of form that they can fill out to update all this information... just like.. myspace for example. I need to know what I need to make this happen, and how to go about doing this... or AT LEAST point me in the right direction. I am on a deadline with this project, so a quick response would be ideal!

~ Thanks ~

The easiest thing to do is set up the site on a content management system. You'd give the teachers and clubs access to the admin side so they could add and edit pages.

If you can't make the switch to a CMS you probably have to code something on your own. How hard or easy that is will depend with your familiarity with scripting languages and databases.

There are plenty of free scripts floating around that claim to offer features similar to MySpace. Try seeing if hotscripts has something to get you started. Pick the language you want to use and then dig into the complete scripts.

Another option is to try one of the more full featured content management systems like Drupal or Joomla.

You'll need to customize the look of the CMS to match your design and learn a little about how each works, but it's probably going to be the quickest way to fo what you want.

It all depends on how much time you have and how complex you need it to be.

Bottom line, a DB with a web based form would do the trick. User level authentication and all the bells and whistles can be coded relatively easily.
