Why is it that password fields in IE are always shorter with the default settings than text fields. You can see it at nixpert.com on the right. Maybe it only shows up this way for me.

You need to define the size of the fields.

When the character width is set the text field is literal and the password field still shows up short. If I set the password field a few characters larger than the text field I can match them up (I am at work and can not remember off hand the exact amount of characters.) I have had this problem on more than just nixpert.com though.

That will do nothing. I have dealt with this bug for well over a year, and I'm at work so I can not change it now if you look at the source but I assure you I have tryed to set it to 15, 20, 30, 50 etc. Its always losing like 2-4 chars, like I said before I can't remember exact amount of chars.

Hi ... Try using inline css to correct the shorter password field problem. It worked for me.Example:

<input name="username" type="text" style="width:150px;">
<input name="password" type="password" style="width:150px;">
