I've been looking around but i can't work out how to do it im quite an idiot.

How do i insert a normal hyperlink in my website at a certain point. For example to coordinates for example 381,856??

What editor are you using? are you trying to make the link on part of an image or text?

I'm using iWeb, im on a mac, but it is crap... can't even make text links!

I'm just trying to make a normal text link at a certain point of the page.

Any help with that?

never used iweb but to make a link you would use this html code

<a href="page.html">THIS IS YOU LINK!</a>

where page.html is the target page you want to go to and THIS IS YOR LINK! is the word that is seen on the page...

you really should try and use a text editor and I know most mods here will shout at me BUT...

if you must use a WYSIWYG editor, then download Dreaweaver for Mac at adobe.com

I know but that doesn't really answer the question, i need to know how to place it at a certain point on the page. For example were it says next thread below this post. How do i place it in a certain position on the page.

Well thats a whole kettle of fish.....

You cant just click on the screen where you want the link to be or draw on the blank "page" (that would be too easy and Im waiting for someone to invent that!)

You need to learn about layouts and that gonna mean starting from scratch I'm afraid.

Have you got a link to anything you have done we can see?

Btw i didnt design the site i am simply working on the SEO side.

Cool, ok well try getting rid of shapeimage_4.png and using a text link instead, that will stop the image not working on rollover.

Also, get rid of all those target="_blank" at the bottom. that makes your links open in a new window. (Very annoying!)

target="_parent" or better still, remove the whole thing....

Make sure you have BOTH the roll over images loaded to the server, the second one appears to be missing thats why its not showing. In terms of the actual link, it is working, its just that roll over thing!

I don't suggest using absolute-position DIV's to accomplish this, if you can find an alternative using the layout of the page that usually works out better. But here is how you would make a link at a specific set of coordinates:

<div id="floatinglink"><a href="#">Click here to go somewhere else</a></div>

<style type="text/css">
 #floatinglink {
   position: absolute;
   top: 381;
   left: 865;
}
</style>

You don't even have to put it into a division.

You can use a WYSIWYG editor and add a Layer, then simply put a link into that.

If you're doing the SEO then you shoud really know HTML backwards (what, when and how).
