I was 12 when I completed my HTML page, from there I learned css. And now I'm in the middle of PHP (a lot harder).

PHP is a lot harder because it does more things, it pro grammes things, although doesn't have to.

I'm 99% sure he doesn't mean php forums, especially if its a free forum powered by phpbb.

Yeah, its quite complicated, but quite interesting if you enjoy what you've done so far.

But before you start learning php, i suggest you learn css. Your design work will get better, then move to php.

Looks like it was not hand coded but done in a WYSIWYG editor. It contains a lot of depricated font tags.

I have made a few geocities sites, but I am very new to the webmaster world as well. I have read a php book, "PHP in easy steps", and I am working on my first real community website. It is a real challenge.
I know this must have been asked many times before but,
I guess my question is, what will CSS do for me that HTML and PHP cannot?

Design. Simple as that.

PHP is mainly for programming
HTML is for structure
CSS (combined with html of course) is for design

CSS is what helps in making the site cheesy and at the same time, handling the design of all the pages in a simple way...
Updating Site designs becomes very easy...and its simple to learn....
Would suggest...you start with www.w3schools.com

I just used that to get a preview of what the site would look like before I uploaded it...and I added some stuff with it, but I ended up deleting all of that suff...
