A client has just asked about having an email template created the animates in the company details and logo when its opened.

he was sent one recently from someone and asked if he can have the same...

he hasn't yet forwarded it to me yet but I was wondering if anyone has heard of this type of thing before?

Hard to know without seeing the email, but I have seen animation usually in a signature. I think it's generally been done using an animated gif.

Obviously you can't force people to see the animation since they can set their email to be text only so make sure there's an alternate way to see the company details and logo.

I think that the most reliable way to do this would be to make an animated .gif file and include that in the email. Like the above poster said, though, make sure you include the contact details in text, also.
