Viewing your site in different browser.

Hi all,
Today when I viewed my site with fire fox, I found that it was very differently rendered from ie. It took a couple of hours to fix it. I was wondering how can I check the way it will render in other web browsers, without having to install them. I doubt whether will be a solution for this, but nowadays you cannot be sure of technology as it changes everyday. Besides I am not very expert in web designing. And hence the question.
Thanks in advance

well you must study well where browsers tent to differ though I see that IE7 good is improved from IE6.w3schools give some of this listed on their site. I suggest to use this method. If you comply well to xhtml rules than your website can fit well through main browsers.

It takes a lot of tinkering and an obsessive complex.

I found it a bit tricky when you design a page with divs and css. Tables seem to be straightforward. To get desired result in div and css sometimes you have to add blank space, set height to auto etc. I think the default for height should be auto in style for every browser as it is in ie7. I am not sure did I express myself correctly.

I never use tables for layout, and I don't think I've EVER set height to 'auto' on any element. Once you get over the learning curve you will see that standard div/css layouts are in fact much quicker and easier than sloppy tables.

While "netrendering services" are surely suited for quick testing, when it goes to bug fixing, it is necessary to have the browser installed (otherwise you would need to make a change to your HTML, render it again, wait for result, ... this works faster when having the browser at hand).

I would recommend testing websites using these browsers, since they are all using different HTML rendering engines: Latest version of Firefox, Safari and Opera as well as IE 6, IE 7.

Especially when developing business websites, you may be shocked how differently these browser platforms render sites...
