How do I do this? (attachment) First the vertical text, then the whole layout! I tried to do it.. but I failed as usual! Can anyone help?

If you are using Adobe Photoshop, you can do this by using the Text Tool. There should be a little black triangle by the corner of the Text Tool, drag that down and a side menu should pop up. Click on Vertical Text Tool.

No =\ HTML

The only way I can think of doing this with html would be to use a list. Then you can style the list to not show bullet points.

If you post a link to the site where you got your example, I can probably tell you exactly how they did it.

I do think that it is better to create an image with vertical text in it. But if you are adamant or really want to create it using html, I'll say now that it is quite a bit of work.

Personally, I'd create an image but nevertheless, here's a link to where you can learn to do it.

What yourmediaking posted is HTML...it just uses some css in addition to the html to style it.

I would also suggest using image. If you need links, you can use imagemap.

You can accomplish this with html, but the increase in file size would not worthy.

^ ??? Since when, in the history of the Web, has a text file taken up MORE space than an image? For accessibility's sake, you should use real text and not an image of it. And an imagemap? For a relatively simple design? Talk about trying to swat a fly with an ICBM.
