First of all let me say that using IE6 as the measure of how a site is rendered 'correctly' is the wrong way to approach this. IE6 does a LOT of things WRONG because of it's lousy support of web standards and it's way too numerous bugs. Firefox is showing the the 'correct' rendering, so you really should use Firefox or some other standards-compliant browser as your test bed first, then kick IE until it behaves like the others.
Without seeing the code we really can't help much - unless you can post the html and css here.
