My Site is: Yum-Lyts.com

My Nav Bar looks great in Fire Fox. But when I look at it in internet explorer it is not positioned right. How do I fix this problem so it looks great in both Fire Fox and Internet Explorer?

My site is a new site. I'm just working on my template now. I know my links don't work. I just need help with my Nav Bar

Hope someone knows how to fix this problem.

Thank you so much in advance!

Hi,
Firstly, I recommend you ALWAYS validate your code.

Here's the HTML validation:
http://validator.w3.org/check?verbos...um-lyts.com%2F
(I have to say, that's the most errors I've seen with the code (433 errors)).

Also, check the CSS validation:
http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/v...um-lyts.com%2F

These two check must be made every time you're starting a site or general checking up on it. Now, I'm not saying that this will definitely fix your problem, but DO spend some time fixing these errors. It may seem like a colossal amount, slowly but surely, you'll get there.

When these errors are fixed, take a look again if the problem still exists.

And welcome to the forum.

I hope this helps.

It's the way you have the navigation set up. You have the code at the very bottom of the html and you're using a very large negative margin to display it where you want. It's really not the best way to place the navigation.

The easiest thing to do is set up a conditional comment so you can use an IE specific stylesheet. Then just use whatever margin is necessary in the IE stylesheet so the navigation appears where you want in IE.

The best solution is to recode more of the page since there really isn't a need to use negative margins in the first place here, but the conditional comment and IE specific stylesheet will be the easiest thing to do.

And I agree about validating your code.

Thank you for taking a look for me and for the help. I will fix the errors and see if that helps the nav bar work in internet explorer the same way it does in firefox

Vangogh thanks for the suggestions. I will try that out too I added the code at the bottom cause when I had it at the very top the nav bar would work in Firefox but when i looked at it in Internet Explorer most all of my content below the navbar was missing and would not show up and the navbar moved. So when I moved it at the bottom of my index the info. would show up but the navbar still would not stay where I wanted it to in Internet Explorer. Maybe all the errors are making
it do that? I'm just confused why my page would look different in Internet Explorer and look much better in FireFox. Thanks again for your help

I didn't go through all the code so I couldn't tell exactly why the navigation was displaying in a different place. It's common though, for margins to behave a little differently in Firefox and IE.
