How to show the code on the webpage without showing the exact result?

are you talking about displaying actual code like in a tutorial or something? If so you can use the html <code> </code> tags

Even with <code> or <pre> tags, you need to use &lt; and &gt; entities for the < and > symbols.

You can also put the code inside a textarea and it will be displayed as is, and easily selectable.
