i want to make extra information appear when you hover over a text link on my site, (like an alt when you hover over a picture), and i was wondering how you do so.
like in this forum when you hover over the link to a thread.

it's the title attribute

e.g. <a href="http://www.webmaster-talk.com" title="the text that you want to appear goes here"> ...

alt text shouldn't appear when you hover over a picture - it's just IE that got it wrong (along with lots of other things
