FireFox/IE Spacing Issue

Hello all, this is my first post here and I did a little searching so I am apologizing now if something like this has been answered. I am currently working on a site for a client and am having browser compatibility issues. This site is nothing extravagant and is made up of mostly tables. I am using Dreamweaver CS3.

Here is the link to the page: http://organizationplus.com/03_three...mration_a.html

Here is a screen shot of the page in IE:

The white space between the first line of text is minimal but not too close - I'd consider this ideally where I'd want it to be. It could maybe go a tad lower if need be.

Here's the same thing in Firefox:

These screen shots (after downsizing) kind of make it look less drastic, in my opinion, but there is a lot more white space here in FF. The image of the computer screen is also a positioned a little bit different here.

I am just looking to get this to be close to identical in both browsers so a compromise needs to be met. It can look like either as far as I'm concerned as long as they are the same.

This coding was a bit sloppy, I did it quickly in Dreamweaver to meet a deadline on a new layout proposal and basically the two columns of content are a table within a table that holds the layout images. (background/header) I can post the code if need be.

Thank you for any help - VERY much appreciated!

Best wishes,
Ricky

IMO you are worrying unnecessarily about a problem that doesn't really exist.

While you may be right, sir, my darned boss does not feel this way and is driving me crazy about this issue. I don't find it to be much of a problem but unfortunately, he does, and well... he's the boss!

I'm beginning to think it's just something that is unavoidable because there is always going to be some browser discrepancies.

I am assuming this, but if you are using <p> tags or <br> you should check for extras of them as that could be the cause.

I figured out what the issue was here. There was a blockquote tag hanging around that wasn't needed. Funny how IE didn't render the page any different because of this, and FF just added a bit of space. Either way, all fixed! Thanks for the input.

I would have to say that you problem is your using tables. Get away from tables, they are the enemy. You will be able to solve this issue pretty quickly and efficiently by doing this entire site in CSS.
