well you'll understand the code on the page source better if you learn some html, if you want to learn them i recomend www.tizag.com or www.w3schools.com, and i prefer notepad

Notepad is the ultimate and simplest way to code, and I would suggest www.w3schools.com as webmaster flex was saying, and http://www.html.net/

Both are great sites. If you are searching for templates, I would suggest: www.freewebtemplates.com

But I strongly recommend that you learn something about html, if you want to create sites, then you don't want to play with something like frontpage. Learn, and get the best results. It's a lot easier if you know your codes.

Notepad is OK, but if you want a text only editor I prefer Notepad++ it's very easy to use, has syntax highlighting and lots more very useful features that plain old windows Notepad doesn't have.

DW of course benefits from autocomplete and drop down lists and such which can help a novice who half knows what he wants but can't remember the exact code to accomplish it.

For free templates I recommend www.oswd.org (open source web design, in case I got the URL wrong).

There are several great places to learn HTML and W3C School is definitely one of them. Now, when it comes to a code editor, I strongly recommend BBEdit. This is a very robust and powerful program and does not tie down your CPU resources, which slows your computer down. BBEdit will not do this.

Thank you. But I have one more question. How to know someone web page, whether it is a template ready/frontpage/dreamweaver one Or by coding through notepad?

What's the better way to make web page layout without using <table>?
