And I'm new to Joomla. I'd like to be able to have him edit just the content on the site w/o having to go through me. Is this possible w/ Joomla, or do I have to redesign the site to make it an entire Joomla template?

I may end up doing that...it's just, I would like for him to be able to change it at will...but I don't see that happening.

See, I'm not getting paid. This is one of the people in my dad's group for his store. I know it's a lame excuse, but I'd like for him to be able to update everything himself if I am busy.

What you need is the full content management features of Joomla - the whole point of which is to allow users to make their own changes. They get a text box area in which to input their changes and it goes where you set it up to go.

Right. That's what I was hoping I could do.

I could basically point to this box on my site and have a CMS that he could use to edit the text in that one box.

I went to the Joomla Forums and they said you couldn't do this though.

Check...

http://www.cushycms.com/

Not sure 100% how it works but you give it your ftp details and then you create divs with the class cushycms. Then your client can login at cushy cms and edit any divs that you made with class="cushycms" as they would in word or any text editor.
