I have contacted my hosting provider as well but thought I would post for help here also.

Any image that I upload does not display correctly. In fact, it does not display at all.

The strange thing is, my friend was able to upload an image and it worked fine, so it has to do with something on my computer or FTP client, idk. I'm using FireFTP and it was working fine last week.

For example, look at the image he uploaded:

I downloaded it, saved it as table2.jpg, and re-upped it:

http://www.thepresentmind.com/images/table2.jpg

but it doesn't show up. Just a blank space. Even stranger, it acts like it is an image in the browser, I'm able to click to scale it, but it's just white.

Also, I am able to upload and view other files, such as php files, and they come out fine.

It isn't just that one directory, no matter where I upload the image, it will not turn out.

I am beyond lost, strangest error I've come across. Google was no help but brought me to this site - any help?

Hi again - it seems I found the problem. I just downloaded FileZilla to test a different FTP client and I was able to successfully upload an image:

I guess I will try to reinstall FireFTP or something? Anyone heard of this issue with FireFTP before?

I think I found the issue. Under Options - Downloads/Uploads, the "When transferring files use" section was set to ASCII Mode. I changed this to Automatic Mode and it seems to work now.

I have no idea how it was set to this as I was uploading images fine last week.

Anyway, sorry for the thread, probably unnecessary but I bet I would have received help if I didn't solve it myself.

Well, we would hope you'd have a vested interest in solving the problem. There have been many times I've posted a question, then found the answer quickly before a reply could come. Perhaps this will help someone else who has a similar problem.
