I hope the title of this thread is not true, but I suspect it definitely is. IE6 is a thorn in most of our sides. However, a lot of recent things I've read about IE8 has made me believe this. When IE6 corporate users finally upgrade, chances are they will shoot straight for IE8, not IE7. IE7 users won't have many reasons to stay with IE7, because IE8 can be made to imitate IE7 if wanted, and will have the more advanced IE8 when needed.
I don't expect IE7 to just die immediately, however, so the fact that IE8 can switch to IE7 mode is actually kind of nice for us developers: IE8 Developers Tools (included automatically with IE8).
