why are my alt tags on images not showing up in FF3?

this is the code I am using:

<img src="http:://www.myIMGlocation.com/image.png" alt="This Should be showing in FireFox too, no?" />

Never had this problem before, I wonder if it has something to do with some of the add-ons I use for FF: and pipelining

because IE as usual gets it wrong. The alt attribute text should only be shown when the image doesn't load or the user agent is image disabled

Change it to title if you want to show the message thingy on mouseover.

No, ADD the title attribute, that way you'll get the same popup-type description in Firefox as you do in IE. Leave the ALT alone.

What she said. This has become my standard practice to ensure IE and FF folks see what we want them to see.
