Hi there,
I'm praying there is a Dreamweaver 3 expert who can help before my puter goes through the window
All my files for my website are stored on both the remote and local server in a folder called ''www'' and all look fine on my website.
However, suddenly, when I try to update a page and click 'put' it loads into the route directory and doesn't overwrite the existing page in the ''www''
folder i.e. its landing in the wrong place on the remote server and refuses to be moved....believe me I've tried every way to move it both on the server and off.
Is there somewhere within Dreamweaver 3 where I can specify the place my files should land? 'put' doesn't have any options attached
Any help would be so much appreciated.
Melinda

You do need to re-visit your FTP settings, there most definitely should be a place to specify where 'put' goes.

Your site folder and file structure on your machine should mirror what's on your server.

You should be able to move files from your cpanel on your hosting provider.

I gave up trying to get Dreamweaver to work properly with this. I switched to Firefox's FireFTP which works likes clockwork, is really user-friendly and fast. Try it before you chuck the computer through the window anyway!

Many thanks for responding,
I sussed it just before I got your reply.
Its amazing how just the missing letters www/ in the Host directory can have caused two days of screaming frustration :-)
Thanks again,
Melinda
