Masking Affiliate URL

Recently, I see many smart affiliates being able to mask their affiliate URL direct from their website. Please what is the code for this?

This is what I mean.

Suppose an affiliate is promoting anymerchant.com and his affiliate ID is anymerchant.com/?p=123. And his personal website is anyproduct.com

Now I see the above affiliate promoting a link like this
anyproduct.com/recommends/cs from his site.

When I click on the link, it is the same link (anyproduct.com/recommends/cs) that remains on the address bar of the browser BUT the SALES PAGE of the merchant is opened to read.

Please what code for this? It makes promoting affiliate products look professional and it will be difficult for anybody to steal Affiliate ID/Commision.

Thank you

I'm not sure exactly how the affiliates are doing this, but I would just create 'anyproduct.com/recommends/cs' then when the user clicks on that link it'll bring him to this.

<html><head>
<META http-equiv="refresh"
content="5;URL=http://www.anymerchant.com/?p=123"></head>
<body>Redirect to anymerchant.com</body>
</html>

But like I said, I'm not sure if this would work or not.

Frames or iframes

you can also "mask" them server side - http://www.candsdesign.co.uk/article...filiate-links/

This will be easy with JavaScript
Quote:
<a onMouseOver="window.status=’http://www.merchant.com’; return true;" onMouseOut="window.status=”"; return true;" href=”http://www.merchant.com/?affid=yourname″> http://www.merchant.com/</a>

Actually, new browsers block changes to the status bar using javascript.

I agree with Chris.

Plus, it sounds like what's wanted here isn't just a status bar mask, but for the person to actually *land* on the page and still see the *chosen* URL in the address bar while technically landing at the specific affiliate URL.

Great setup, but don't know how to do it. I would almost say that it's probably a feature the affiliate company in question offers its affiliates. Because it seems server-side to me.

I'll look into it; might be a good idea for my own.

Thank you Super Moderator and all other contributors out there.

If Javascript is blocked by new browsers, what is the next best alternative?

Before now, I do use URL Redirection using HTML. For any buyer who understands internet marketing so well will see the redirection from the foot of the browser. I DON"T want this at all.

Please any suggestions?

also masking in PHP is possible

create file link.php

to link.php add your cj code
for example > http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-0000000-10000000

should looks like:

<?php
header("Location:http://www.tkqlhce.com/click-0000000-10000000.php");
?>

To keep the URL your website domain and not the product.

You would iframe the actual affiliate link instead. Set the iframe size to 100% height and width.
