Need help with Firefox/IE layout

Hey there,
I really need help with my layout! I'm a beginner coder and I used a template for the layout. It looks great on IE, but when I switch to Firefox it looks horrible! The colors are off (my beige text on IE went green on Firefox), the graphics are not aligned the way they were on IE, and all the text is bigger than on IE. I have absolutely no idea what to do to make it look decent on Firefox.
Any help would be appreciated!

I highly suggest that you use a css global reset to get around this problem. A global reset is a CSS stylesheet that basically neutralizes the differences between the major browsers.

The global reset style sheet that I have been using is called Tripoli, and can be found at http://devkick.com/lab/tripoli/

You can find many other global reset style sheets on the Internet.

I hope this helps.

I suspect that the reset will not solve the problems.
A word to the newbies - if you design only using IE as your guide, you will run into problems because IE has so many bugs and does things in a NON-standard way. Save yourself some aggravation and use Firefox, Opera, or even Safari to do your designing, then kick IE until it does what the rest do correctly.

Read about IE's many bugs and how to crush them here:
www.positioniseverything.net

If it looks 'right' in IE and 'wrong' in Firefox, then IE is, as usual, doing it WRONG!

Let's see all the code or a URL so we can see what's going on.

Yup, IE definitely has had a bad record of NOT adhering to web standards! Naughty IE.

There are great perks to using Mozilla Firefox too! Plugins! My favorite plugin for Firefox is called Web Developer
It is incredibly useful and I kicked myself for not having it earlier.

I agree.. and if you add Firebug to that, you have an indispensable tool!
