Hi --

On a web page I'm having made, I'm including an H264 QT movie using the EMBED SRC code (cuz I need to see a poster frame). AutoPlay is off--the user will start it. In Safari the 60 meg movie can be played within a few seconds of the page loading. But in Firefox, the movie can't be started until the whole movie has buffered -- 65 seconds. No good.

Any suggestions to make Firefox start to play as fast as Safari?

Mitchell I suggest to you to convert it to flv and then to be played with a flv player (like youtube) .. not every computer has QT installed

Thanks, Dan. I've tried a Flash version of the movie and it is inferior to the H264 version -- even at a higher data rate. The motion is jittery (many dropped frames), image soft, snow in color fields... definitely worse. It's great that Flash is easier to program in, but it just doesn't look as good. Plus, H264 automatically adjusts its gamma depending on which platform is viewing it, since PCs show movies darker than Macs.

Everyone I care about seeing my page will have QT installed. I mean... who doesn't have iTunes installed?
