Needless to say, these favicons are giving me a heck of a time for some reason.

This time I'm back with www.atlanticcityhotelreviews.com

I can not make the favicon display at all, the favicon should be a blue box with white "AC" inside of it, but the old one will not die. If someone else can take a look at it and let me know what I'm missing that'd be great. I am completely burned out on these and ready to move forward.

Here are two tags you can use:
<link rel="icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />

However, I can see it just fine on my end. You may need to clear your cache and reload.

are you designing your fav icon yourself? If so, make sure your NOT using a transparent background for your ico if you want the blue. The transparency will make that a problem.

Good Luck.
