Hello,

A client wishes to include a link to a flash video that has been created before and placed on their crappy CDN service.

Rather than linking to the page where the video has been embedded that I've created, is there a way to link to the actual video itself and have it play?

Since the video is .flv, I don't think there is a way to do this and it has to be embedded on a webpage so that people will be able to view it (since not many peops have an flv player that automatically plays .flv video.)

But if there is, can someone please steer me in the right direction. Unfortunately, the CDN service does not allow for customized players to load the videos.

Thanks
Mike

You could load the page with video from the other site into a lightbox-type window on your client's site and let it play there. It acts sort of like an iframe. I used ThickBox for similar functionality, and there are other similar solutions that'll do the same thing.

Hi Lady, thanks for the suggestion, I thought about this option, but this for a newsletter being sent via email through constant contact so it needs to be strictly a link without javascript etc.

An alternative I've thought of is to just have it be a popup window re-sized to the embeded video of the page.

...not very glamorous, but it works.
