Hi,

I'm Phil Archer, part of the W3C's Mobile Web Initiative Team. If you haven't heard of W3C, we're the organization that steers the development of Web standards like HTML, CSS and so on. If all your websites are desigend for desktops and laptops, now's the time to learn how to adapt your skills to create great content for mobile users.

We're about run our online training course: Introduction to W3C Mobile Web Best Practices again, starting on Monday 7 September. Take the course and you will:
  • learn about the specific promises and challenges of the mobile platform;
  • learn how to apply W3C's Mobile Web Best Practices to design mobile-friendly Web content;
  • gain practical experience of turning desktop content into mobile content;
  • become familiar with the W3C tools available to help you develop content that works on the maximum number of devices.
Participants will have access to lectures and assignments guided by W3C experts on this topic who are the instructors for this course. You will also be able to discuss and share experiences with your peers who are faced with the challenges of mobile Web design.

You will need to have a basic knowledge of HTML and CSS to complete some of the assignments. However, this course is not aimed at developers with advanced skills in things like AJAX.

Full details can be found at http://www.w3.org/Mobile/training/

Shout if you have any questions.

Cheers

Phil.
