Hello, I am not a web developer but just an event coordinator and have a question about widget development time as my boss wants to know how many resources this would take and for how long before moving ahead.

check out this blue box on this website with dates and locations:

currently it is just plain html and when a date or city changes, our designer just manually updates it.

another website wants to place this calendar on their website, but they dont want to have to update it manually, so they want a widget that will update itself.

so i need something that everytime someone visits their page, it would know to look to our website or a database, etc... for the most up to date cities and dates and display them to their visitor.


so how long would it take for a reasonable web developer to code something like this?

It shouldn't take more than a few hours. I'd recommend going the database route though. You'd also have to have the dev build an admin page where you could add/edit/delete dates.
