Does anyone know why I would have someone else's site under my site's name after ftp.

I own the site http://www.mintinit.com

But by chance I put ftp before the mintinit.com and I get this! http://ftp.mintinit.com/

If you click on the links you'll understand what I mean

Does anyone know why?

Because that is the first site on the server and it is set to respond on any unknown virtualhost name(s) that resolve to the IP.

Before you jump to conclusions, why isn't http://random.mintinit.com/ resolving to the same site? You may want to ask your host.

Nice catch, should have done that myself.

As wayfarer07 points out, It's not a wilcard (catchall) but somehow and for some reason ftp. has been added to the VirtualHost for the default site so it responds on port 80 as well as port 21
