What's wrong with my backgrounds? (And other questions)

Hi,

It's my first time here and I hope this is the right place to post - my website is in HTML but I use Yahoo Sitebuilder and know very little HTML (though I can edit it if necessary)

My website is at www.all-water.org/

As you can see, the blue-gradient background doesn't line up with the banner at the top of the page. As you resize the window the content moves away from the background as well. The background lines up differently on pages like www.all-water.org/Links.html.

Another issue is that the right sidebar (a color-filled textbox) appears in Firefox, but not in Safari. How to fix this?

Also, while I'm here... can anyone offer an alternative WYSIWYG editor to Yahoo Sitebuilder? It's kind of outdated. I also can't use it on my Mac. I've tried iWeb, which is great - but I don't like the SEO limits.

Edit: Fixed bad links. Sorry about that.

Thanks.
Nik

Sorry about that, I didn't know capitals mattered in links. Should be fixed now.

Instead of using some SiteBuilder thing, use something else, even notepad would be better.

Put a proper DOCTYPE on all your pages.
Get rid of all the absolute positioning and learn to use the document flow.

If you need to learn html - w3schools.com

learning HTML is key. Also great software like Dreamweaver will help...if you can pay.
