I need help on trying to find what I'm wanting.

I think the easiest way I can explain this is with a simple scenario, I have an A4 sheet of sticky label paper. I know the dimensions because you get instructions with it and usually you are required to use software like Publisher/Scribus or Word/Writer to create the labels and print to this paper. It's also made easier with the amount of label formats they have plus the ability to create custom formats.

Just note that's just a simple scenario, a real scenario is of an A4 sheet with complex requirements of filling a blank box with an address, maybe further down the page, insert text into a blank line, etc. So basically filling in a paper version of a form using a printer but the data being HTML. And also to note, I may have 25 different forms each with different requirements which is why...

I don't actually want to manually write a CSS media stylesheet for printing, I'm looking for an existing solution or something that does similar but may require modification so I don't spend as much time as I need to do on it.

Right now I'm looking at templating systems, however they are more HTML orientated than to creating printable media, but with (a lot of) modifications and maybe a strip down of the features they'd provide something I'd want... but I'd prefer if there's an existing solution before I start hacking at something that wasn't specifically designed for what I had in mind.

So any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

MC

Since you have so many different forms possible, that would require a lot of validation on the back end side, have you thought of just creating PDF forms? They will look exactly as you want and can be filled in by the user. No validating needed, etc. (Though, you won't be able to check for missing fields, etc.)

Almost any text writer has the option to export as PDF.

X-Box repair for 360 uses an HTML form that pre-populates a PDF UPS label that is then printable by the user. You'd need to know some php for that though.

Not sure if this will help:

good luck

Now how do I clear this up?

I am using ABP (Ad block plus with it enabled) See the stop sign top right?

Note: If I were able to enter a subject title I would've put this message in the appropriate area, but because I couldn't, here's a spot where I could.

So there...And be sure to look at the image so you know where I am getting at.

Thanks
