the marquee tag has been deprecated (Thank Goodness) for a long time now. Maybe your browser doesn't support it now.

The are two other ways to achieve animated text besides a Javascript and both are rather clunky.

1. Create an animated gift of the text.
2. Create a flash animation.

Give the page URL and we can look at how you executed those Javascript routines. And find the typo that is causing it not to work.

FYI, Marquee did not work well even before it was depreciated.
And nothing has been created or standardized to replace it.

Bad standards committee!

Heck it's taken them twenty years to come up with columns
and even they will have execution problems on different browsers
because no one has forced the browser groups to knock off their
straying from the core guidelines.

Coding for all these different browsers has ALWAYS been a pain.

I just tried the one that chris posted, and yes, it does work and I have tried it in Opera 10. Usually everything that chris posts works, that's of course unless you have some spyware or javascript turned off which will prevent it from working.

I had to take a double take when I saw marquee. It looks like it has been steered in the right direction.

i still see floppy disks around the storage room at work but doesn't mean its necessarily useful

i think the best modern use for marquee is stock/exchange information...

Hi..
In Marquee you just check the coding behind that portion and it may contain that browser did not support the marquee... you just you Fire Fox 3.5.. So it may work for you now...
