That is impossible. Just time by time check if your content is ripped or not and report.

The only way for you to avoid people using what you put on the net, is not to put it on the net...

You don't have to be a 'pro' to defeat an ill-advised 'no right click' script!

If it's backend scripts such as php then no one can steal that. html /css and images can be stolen though. If the images are worth something to you then you may have to watermark them.

Buddy your question is very simple. There are lots of method by which you can aviod stealing of your source code like:

1. password protect yout root files by using your cpanel
2. disable right click option on your website
3. use <invisible> tags and hide all important coding from source file.

For more simplicity, I just searched online and found a link which gives more explanation on "Stealing source code"

It's reasonable to want to protect things like images from being stolen, but code for an HTML page? Really.. there's nothing proprietary about HTML, or even PHP for that matter. <invisible> tags ?? That's not a valid tag that I'm aware of.

You did forget one thing in here, even though your absolutely right. If someone purchases the php script they might distribute for free through the web via piracy sites.

can't it be saved by making the seperate CSS file. i mean you can safe the script in another file and use that. that file should not be placed on you pc it should be in your pc in an encrypted form.

How would you protect images from being copied, other than a watermark? Thanks! Oh, and how would you add a watermark to an image in PhotoShop CS4? Still kind of new at PS. Thanks!

edit each html page put like 100,000,000 carriage returns so your source is not viewable. Note: to make it a bit more convincing, add a line of text that says source code has been hidden from prying eyes.

how to still get the code if I wanted? Press and hold:

control and tap a (selects all - including the empty space)
control and tap c (copies selection)
control and tap v (paste selection into another text file)

Public stuffs are meant to be public. Thats my view.

None of the usual methods are really full proof. Anybody with decent knowledge would be able to find a workaround.

For example:
right click disable: you can turn off javascript on a browser and download images just fine.

watermark:
look at the source code for image location and download straight pasting on a browser with usual save.

Preventing image theft is impossible but if you want to prevent hotlinking i.e. bandwidth theft then you can use this htaccess code:

# DISABLE HOTLINKING
RewriteEngine on
# Options +FollowSymlinks
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^$
RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://(www\.)?YOURSITE.COM/.*$ [NC]
RewriteRule \.(gif|jpg|jpeg|png|js)$ - [F]

So would it be Ok if I pop along and copy all the images from your site and reuse them all?

They are public after all and I can't be bothered creating any of my own.

My idea is to use encription of your html (not all the page but some important parts such as swf-objects):
1. Encript you code at:
http://www.iwebtool.com/html_encrypter
2. Save the result to .js file.
3. Include your .js file inside you html with <script> tags.

With this method the visitor must download the .js but then it will be still incripted and look something like that:

"<Script Language='Javascript'>
<!-- HTML Encryption provided by iWEBTOOL.com -->
<!--
document.write(unescape('%4D%79%20%69%64%65%61%20% 69%73%20%74%6F%20%75%73%65%20%65%6E%63%72%69%70%74 %69%6F%6E%20%6F%66%20%79%6F%75%72%20%68%74%6D%6C%2 0%28%6E%6F%74%20%61%6C%6C%20%74%68%65%20%70%61%67% 65%20%62%75%74%20%73%6F%6D%65%20%69%6D%70%6F%72%74 %61%6E%74%20%70%61%72%74%73%20%73%75%63%68%20%61%7 3%20%73%77%66%2D%6F%62%6A%65%63%74%73%29%3A%0D%0A% 31%2E%20%45%6E%63%72%69%70%74%20%79%6F%75%20%63%6F %64%65%20%61%74%3A%0D%0A%68%74%74%70%3A%2F%2F%77%7 7%77%2E%69%77%65%62%74%6F%6F%6C%2E%63%6F%6D%2F%68% 74%6D%6C%5F%65%6E%63%72%79%70%74%65%72%0D%0A%32%2E %20%53%61%76%65%20%74%68%65%20%72%65%73%75%6C%74%2 0%74%6F%20%2E%6A%73%20%66%69%6C%65%2E%0D%0A%33%2E% 20%49%6E%63%6C%75%64%65%20%79%6F%75%72%20%2E%6A%73 %20%66%69%6C%65%20%69%6E%73%69%64%65%20%79%6F%75%2 0%68%74%6D%6C%20%77%69%74%68%20%3C%73%63%72%69%70% 74%3E%20%74%61%67%73%2E%0D%0A%0D%0A%57%69%74%68%20 %74%68%69%73%20%6D%65%74%68%6F%64%20%74%68%65%20%7 6%69%73%69%74%6F%72%20%6D%75%73%74%20%64%6F%77%6E% 6C%6F%61%64%20%74%68%65%20%2E%6A%73%20%62%75%74%20 %74%68%65%6E%20%69%74%20%77%69%6C%6C%20%62%65%20%7 3%74%69%6C%6C%20%69%6E%63%72%69%70%74%65%64%20%61% 6E%64%20%6C%6F%6F%6B%20%6C%69%6B%65%20%74%68%61%74 %3A%0D%0A'));

If someone wants to steal your work, they will, regardless of how difficult you make it for them. Encrypting your HTML is amateurish and counter productive.

What you should consider is making your mark-up public friendly. That is to comment in parts how you achieved certain effects, this is namely for any scripting since HTML itself is a simple system that is inevitably used by everyone who makes a website (and therefore not copyrighted).

As for people stealing your images, a copy of your images is loaded into the browser cache anyway.

In effect there is little you can do other than copyright your work and seek legislative action (or threaten) against the thiefs that you do come across.

Using javascript to encrypt HTML also makes it totally invisible to search engine indexers and some accessibility devices
